Snowmobilers outraged a the Section 58 closure of the Callaghan are organizing a protest ride May 17 & 18. The intent is to identify & ride the best routes through the Callaghan.

VANOC won out & outrageously closed our snowmobile corridor through Callaghan Park December 17. The closure is only in effect until May 15th. The “final” LRMP for the Sea to Sky is nearing signing however it is far from final. Recreation is by no means final. ILMB employee Kevin Kriese has appointed mediator Gordon Erlandson to sort out the mess in the wake of the Sea to Sky Backcountry Winter Recreation Forum, VANOC and G2G negotiations (i.e. First Nations).
